Blackout

blackout zephyriousity poetry post

in the middle of the night
in the darkness of the hall
my eyes met yours.

you were once a stranger
but i trusted you without a doubt
i pushed myself too hard
that i let myself drown into your smile.

i can still remember
that night i laid eyes on you
that curve in your face
the handshake that we made
your name and my name,
we decided to tell.

i can still remember
when we shared that small bed
bitten by hungry mosquitoes
looking at the ceiling
in that quiet, concealed hotel lodge.

i can still remember
the things that we said
the stories that we told
the mysteries on your face
the way we look toward each other.

Oh! i can still remember
that feeling that you once given me
i will never forget that
i will never regret that
thank you, for being the stranger
who turned to be a friend
and became a stranger again.

I don’t know where these words are coming from. But I know, deep in my heart, when I re-read this post, this is about YOU. You may not have read this, or come across this post. But yes, this is about YOU. The perfect stranger who changed the way I see the world. The perfect stranger who provided me an experience of a lifetime. Thank you, my dear friend. 🙂

XX,
